Temperatures Ryzen 7 5800X

Hello everybody. A Doubt about hardware: I only use the CPU to adjust the position of elements, cameras and the GPU to render. The RTX3090, with the adjustments I made, is at 65°C, but the Ryzen 7 5800X, set to 100% usage, easily reaches 88°C. I’m using an AK400 (thermal paste that comes with the cooler) and two fans on the case. Is the Ryzen 5800X a Fireplace Disguised as a Processor, or Is Something Wrong?

PS: for these adjustments I don’t need the CPU at 100%, I can leave it at 50% without problems, but I’m trying to understand what happens to have such high temperatures.

The Tj-max of the CPU is 90 so at that temperature it will start to throttle or to shutdown, with Intel that depends on what you picked in the BIOS.

I never worry that much about high temperatures although this is pretty close to the limit. I’m sure you can create a kind of fan-curve in BIOS so you just let the fans run a bit harder, most of the time that already helps a lot. Maybe you’ve them on quiet which is nice but not if you want lower temperatures.

If you have overclocked it and use higher voltages you will get such temperatures earlier but else just try to check airflow, dust. And if it’s summer here (even in The Netherlands) temps are way harder to keep really low.
